Hooked Tea Pot Cozy

I finished the tea pot cozy. It is a Karen Kahle design. I had bought the pattern printed on linen a few years ago and finally got around to hooking it. I wanted to dye my wools similiar to her colors and so finally got everything in order and finished it in about a week. I love her method of making the lavender fronds. And I really concentrated on spacing my loops wider apart. I am a "packer" and really need to learn to get the spaces further apart. So this one blocked like a dream. I hand stitched a piece of brown plaid wool that is too thin to hook to the back and then for the backing of the cozy itself, I layered 2 pieces of the plaid with a layer of thin cotton quilt batting on top. I sewed all around leaving an opening. I clipped curves and turned inside out and then did the stitching all around using brown yarn. Once it was finished, I hand sewed it to the top rounded part of the hooked section, leaving the bottom open. It seems rather large for regular tea pots so think it might be better used on a kettle. I will hang it in my hallway gallery until I need it for a tea party or something.
